There have been discoveries throughout history that have fundamentally changed humanity and civilization. The discovery of fire, the wheel, the invention of agriculture, chemistry, electricity, the transistor and nuclear physics. We will probably never return to the bygone days of ignorance before each of these discoveries. New scientific revolutions are likely to occur within this very century. We may ask ourselves what the next scientific revolution is likely to be.

Humankind may uncover the untapped potential of biotechnology and genetic engineering, leading to biosynthetic fuels and other wonders. The fundemental components of language and thought may be elucidated, unlocking artificial intelligence. Nanotechnology may lead to a mind-machine interface and who knows what else. The search for extraterrestrial life and intelligence may be successful. The theory of everything may be discovered, unlocking the secrets of quantum physics. Any one of these may lead to revolutionary technologies and discoveries we can't even imagine today.

Unlike Matt Drudge, We don't have contacts with high level officials who possess secret information about world leaders. We also don't have secret information about the next scientific breakthrough. If you do: please let us know!
