Why a sheep and not some other mammal? The cloning technique used was attempted with mice, but it didn't seem to work. Now, Hawaii scientists report they have successfully cloned mice. Their method is reportedly easier, and more consistant. I will be updating my "How to Clone a Human" page with new information from the Hawaii experiments. Many years ago, similar experiments were tried with frogs, but there was some conflict over the accuracy of the results. Here's some links to more articles. I have copies of the original "cell quiescence" article, but I haven't found it on the web.
